Problem after problem

Sigh... I think I will be stuck in Singapore for a while more....

I just received an email from the company and this is how it goes...

Our China office is facing some issues with applying for Invitation Letter and Employment License, so that we can apply for Z-V isa (multiple-entry visa). The China authorities do not accept the attached document as evidence that Chun Meng had graduated, till we get the graduation certificate. O ur manager went in and try to convince them and also failed.

Sigh... Damn Sian.... I really hope that this will be worth all the hassles and sacrifices! I could have been working 2 months and getting 2 months worth of pay already. Now.. I am rotting at home and having nothing to do....

Still in Singapore

Sigh...I am still in Singapore. Opened my email account at 10.18pm and I saw this message

Dear Chun Meng, as XXX had resigned from the Company, I will be assisting you with the visa application to China. Really sorry for the delay …

Makes me damn mad. This means that I will still have to be in Singapore for at least another 2 weeks. Thats what I have been saying for the past month. The whole process is damn slow. The company is really inefficient. Furthermore, its damn boring to stay at home and having nothing to do. If I have accepted the previous job offer, I would have earned about 2k plus by now and would already be flying around the region. Sigh... =(

P/S: Will I have to work till so late in the future? Its damn scary. Imagine still having to be in the office at around 10pm. Really no life.

Mosquitoes in Alaska?!

I was reading XX's blog and she mentioned that there are alot of mosquitoes in Alaska. Initially, I was laughing at her and thinking that she is stupid. I did not believe that there are alot of mosquitoes in Alaska because Alaska is a pretty cold place and mosquitoes seldom appear in those cold climates. But I was wrong!! I guess I am the fool. Haha.

A quick check on Google came up with many websites that show that mosquitoes are really an issue for Alaska. There are up to 35 species of mosquitoes in Alaska!!! Incredible and freaking disgusting. Maybe the mosquito situation in Singapore is not that bad after all. I should be glad that I am actually in Singapore and not Alaska! Laugh!!

Found some of the information listed in the websites to be extremely useful and informative. Hence, I decided to copy and paste and share it with you guys.

The majority of mosquitoes in Alaska spend the winter as eggs within the specific habitat where they will eventually develop into larval, pupal, and adult stages. This means that female adults deposit eggs during late summer in the habitats mentioned above. These eggs then lie dormant throughout the winter until water temperatures are warm enough for hatching to occur the following spring. Mosquito eggs can sometimes lie dormant for several years, particularly when the eggs are deposited in depressions that are not flooded with water each year. – Amazing!

Only female mosquitoes bother us. Females need protein from blood to develop their ovaries and reproduce. Males survive by sipping nectar from flowers and sucking juices plants and fruit; females also supplement their diet with nectar. Mosquitoes use visual, thermal, and olfactory stimuli to locate a host. Of these, olfactory cues are probably most important. For mosquitoes that feed during the daytime, movement of the host and the wearing of dark-colored clothing may initiate orientation toward a person. Visual cues seem to be important for in-flight orientation, particularly over long ranges, whereas olfactory stimuli become more important as a mosquito nears its host.

Using sensors on its antennae, a mosquito picks up animals' body heat, odor and carbon dioxide from exhaled breath. The female mosquito follows the trail upwind to its source. Once mosquitoes get closer, they're attracted to other cues such as dark colors, moisture in the air, and silhouettes of potential victims. British researchers found that mosquitoes responded to the body cues of an animal standing 45 feet away.

Female mosquitoes do not use the sense of sight or touch in seeking out victims or the most stingable parts of victims. A mosquito will become restless and commence to fly around if there is an increase of carbon dioxide in the surrounding air. At first, the direction of the flight path may be random, but if the mosquito finds warm and moist air she tries to stay in it. Since animals give off carbon dioxide as well as heat and moisture, the mosquito can quickly home in on a patch of exposed skin in preparation for a good meal.

Insect repellents are designed to block mosquitoes' sensory organs with heavy, bulky molecules. When its sensors are clogged with repellent a mosquito is fooled into looking elsewhere for its blood meal. Mosquito repellents do not repel mosquitos because the repellents smell or taste badly to the mosquitos. Instead, the repelling action is by a more subtle process that blocks sensory functions.

How much time should a couple spend together?

Time spent together as a couple should be beneficial to both. Couples just starting a new relationship may want to spend every spare minute together, which may sound unhealthy to outsiders but both are getting and receiving the intimacy they crave. As long as you and your partner feel this bond growing stronger, the linear time spent together should be viewed as healthy or unhealthy.

There's a lot going on during those first few weeks or months of a romantic relationship, so society's rules rarely apply. Don't be afraid to spend as much time together as possible during the earliest stages of a promising relationship.

As the relationship begins to take shape, however, it may be a good time to examine the effect it's having on your own personal life. Are you still meeting your other responsibilities-work, school, sleep? Are you maintaining your ties to family and friends? If you notice a definite and negative change in your daily routine, you may be spending too much time with your partner and not leaving enough time for yourself.

One of the hardest things to do in a new relationship is manage your time together wisely, but that's what needs to happen in order to maintain your own emotional and physical well-being. Whether it is a formal date or a casual visit, someone has to determine when it's time to part ways. It may not always be a mutual decision, but a time boundary must be established early in the relationship.

Here are some things to consider when spending healthy time together:
1. Work and school obligations.
2. Family and friends.
3. Personal identity.
4. Partner's comfort zone.

Got those from a website. Well I think its quite true. Hmmm however I do have something to add on to. Personally I feel that at the inital stage of the relationship, girls tend to be hesistant and they do not dare to commit so much. They try to find time for their friends. Whereas for guys, they prefer to have as much time as possible at the inital stage of the relationship.

Towards the latter part of the relationship, the girls become more committed and they want to spend more time with their partner. As for the guys, they prefer to have more individual time instead. This is because, for them, their thinking is that since we are together and are already so close we do not need to spend so much time together. Well, thats my personal thinking. I am not sure whether its true anot. =)

Life Sux!

I have been feeling and vexed and are easily agitated lately. The trouble started because of the delay in the paper works for the China Visa Application. The delay has brought problems into other parts of my life.

Sigh.... Everything is not going the way I want it to be. Everything is WRONG!!! And the uncertainty about the future is damn irritating!! My frustration is threatening to boil over and I am getting angry at every small little things. Well if that is not bad enough. Someone just committed suicide at my block!! Maybe that little ger is having experiencing more trouble than me. Oh well....Sigh…. Life Sux!!!!! :<

If I had come home around 20-30 mins later, I would have surely witnessed her jumping in front of me. Whew.. On second thought, after seeing the grieving parents, maybe my situation is not that bad afterall. I think I should try to cheer up...
